Fitment basics

Confirm the wheel bolt torque against the VW workshop manual for your car's VIN before you rely on it. Any bolt tightened to a torque plus an angle is a stretch bolt and must be replaced.

57.0 mm per original-felgen.com;4 57.1 mm per oemalloywheels.com and wheel-size.com.23 Sources differ 57.1 mm is the figure usually quoted. The 0.1 mm gap comes from the sources, not from different cars.
Wheel bolts
Bolts, not nuts: M14x1.5.3 The OE bolt is WHT002437: M14x1.5, ball (radius) seat, 27 mm under the head, about 48 mm long overall, 17 mm hex.5 Owners confirm the 27 mm shank and ball seat; the R13 radius comes from one forum thread Unverified.6

For the MK7.5 Golf R, wheel-size.com gives 225/40 R18 on 7.5J x 18 ET51 (offset range 49-53) and 235/35 R19 on 8J x 19 ET50.3 original-felgen.com gives the 18 in Cadiz as ET49, so the 18 in offset differs between sources. Sources differ14 Tyre pressures, the spare wheel and the pressure placard are on the Owner's reference page.

Reading a VW wheel part number

In the numbers listed on this page:1

  • 5G0 601 025 plus one or two letters is a factory Golf 7 wheel. The letters pick out the design; a design that is revised gets a new letter, and the old number is superseded (Dijon went B, then BF, then CH).15
  • 5G0 071 495 to 5G0 071 499 are VW accessory wheels. In the accessory numbers here, 495 is a 15 in wheel, 496 a 16 in, 497 a 17 in, 498 an 18 in and 499 a 19 in.1
  • 5GE numbers are e-Golf wheels (Astana, Rio de Janeiro) and 5GM numbers appear on US-market wheels.161718
  • Some wheels approved for the Golf 7 carry another model's prefix: 5K0 is a Golf 6 number (Serron), 5H0 a Golf 8 number (Gavia), and older or other-model accessory wheels carry 1K0, 5C5, 3AA, 3G0 or 5NA prefixes.19201
  • The last three characters are the finish (colour) code. The same design can carry several.1

Golf R wheels

The 18 in Cadiz was standard on the UK Golf R throughout; Pretoria and, from 2017, Spielberg were the 19 in options.101112 Reifnitz is a GTI TCR wheel, listed in the next section. More R data, including brakes and chassis, is on the Golf R page.

GTI, GTI Performance, Clubsport, Clubsport S and TCR wheels

Pretoria (standard on the Clubsport S, and in Pretoria Black on the TCR) is in the Golf R table. Seville Dark Graphite, an option on the 2020 GTI Performance, is with the GTD wheels. Nogaro, the 18 in wheel on the 2017 US GTI Sport, is also with the GTD wheels. Canyon, which one US seller also fits to the GTI, is with the Alltrack wheels. The 19 in Cadiz also fitted the US GTI. US part numbers without a design name

A US replacement-wheel seller lists these OEM numbers and Hollander interchange groups but gives no design names.96 The likely design is inferred from a shared interchange group or a matching number elsewhere on this page. No source states it, so every name here is Unverified.

Conflicts, possible duplicates and non-MK7 wheels

One wheel, two names?

  • Quaranta and Belvedere. The UK Clubsport Edition 40 brochure describes its 18 in Quaranta wheels as forged and weight-optimised, and the 2016 press pack says they are 3 kg lighter than conventional alloys.4513 original-felgen.com and a UK dealer call 5G0 601 025 CF FZZ Belvedere and tie it to the Clubsport; original-felgen.com gives about 8.8 kg, against 10.7 to 13.7 kg for the other 18 in Golf wheels.750 That suggests one wheel with two names. No source says so Unverified.
  • Parker and Milton Keynes. The UK MK7.5 lists call the GTI 18 in wheel Parker.1112 Dealers and wheel databases call the MK7.5 GTI 18 in 5G0 601 025 CN FZZ Milton Keynes.464849 They may be one wheel under a UK marketing name; no source gives Parker with a part number Unverified.
  • Tilleve and Astana. The UK lists call the e-Golf 16 in wheel Tilleve;101112 original-felgen.com and a UK dealer call the e-Golf 5GE 601 025 FZZ Astana.1676 Probably the same wheel Unverified.
